With a couple days off from training, we decided to take a mini family vacation to Destin.
Destin Beach is only a few 'beaches' away from Pensacola Beach so it was only a short drive along the gulf coast.
For dinner we ate at Joe's Crab Shack. We've never seen the waitresses dance at a Joe's before, but Tyler & Ainsley loved it. Tyler laughed and Ainsley danced along. The kids got souvenir plastic sharks and got to play at the restaurant's playground.

After dinner we went for a walk at Harbor Walk Marina. Tyler & Ainsley met this pirate. There was also a clown walking around making balloon animals. Ainsley became very scared when the clown talked to her.

The family. After our walk we went back to our hotel and went to the indoor pool & hot tub or bath tub as the kids call it.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn on Destin Beach. It was a very kid friendly hotel wih free popcorn and a kids playroom. We got a gulf front room with a balcony.

For Breakfast we took the kids to Krispy Kreme for the first time. (We got there right as the hot donut light turned on. Yum!)

Tyler is a picky eater. Finally after I shoved a small bite into his mouth and told him it was candy he decided it was good and would eat his donut.

Ainsley only ate half a donut. I guess it was too sweet for her.

Ainsley with Daddy

We checked out soon after breakfast and were headed to the beach. Tyler & Ainsley loved to push the luggage cart.

Went spent a few hours relaxing and playing on the beach by our hotel.

Ainsley loved to have this wagon filled with water and then fill it up with sand.

Tyler loved to splash is the waves. It is still a bit cool for that, so after playing in the waves a little shivering Tyler had to warm back up in his towel.
Why the picture of a diaper cake? Well, I had planned on hosting a 'Diaper Party' (aka Baby Shower) for my friend Erin on that Thursday morning. So I got everything ready for the party before we left on Wednesday and passed it all off to another friend who hosted it for me so we could take our much needed last-minute get-away.

Oh what great pics!!!!!!!!! That one pic of A with the piggy tails is like a carbon copy of "mini marda" =)
